By MICAH MAIDENBERG Editor
Rory Guerra, the gravelly voiced leader of the Saints of Humboldt Park, walked into Café Colao on a recent morning with three manila envelopes under his arm. He overturned the envelopes, dumping letters and receipts onto a small table in the famous Humboldt Park cafe. One of the letters was from a convict named Elias. He wrote, "Rory, sorry for the delay in response to your letter, but it felt very good to hear from you again. I've been staying focused on and praying that everything works out." It was dated August 31, 2007. The inmate signed off by writing, "Your Little-Tall Brother, Elias |

What is Paseo Boricua?
Paseo Boricua, which stretches along Division Street from Western
Avenue to Mozart, represents a microcoosm of the Puerto Rican
historical and cultural experience. The 50 light poles adorned with
laser-etched wrought iron banners, representing images of the three
cultural experiences that define the Puerto Rican people (the Taino,
Spanish and West African,) the 16 placitas along the walkway; and the
variety of businesses with a Puerto Rican accent, all testify to this
reality.
